Sad and Confused

Amy Butler has just released her latest range, Love. Usually I love Amy Butler, especially her Midwest Modern and Lotus collections, but I'm not feeling the love (excuse the pun) for this collection. After months of waiting for this fabric to be released, it's a great disappointment; like waking up on Christmas morning expecting to find a Chewbacca under the tree only to discover that Santa has failed to deliver (and that was last year!). I'm finding it really hard be enthused by this range. I like to the colours, but the patterns do nothing for me. Maybe it will grow on me. On the upside, I won't be rushing out to buy it so at least I'll save some money (yeah, right....like I won't just go out and buy something else!). I'd love to know what you think of the collection.

UPDATE: After reading Luisa's comment (thanks Luisa) I've added a link to the Love slide show so you can see the patterns on a larger scale.

I think they are more 'obviously' botanical and olde worlde than previous ranges. I would love to see the prints on a large scale...I also like the colours...and like some of the patterns more than others. Sorry, Rosie, can only empathise..!

I'm with you Rosie - only like 2 of the prints and could live with one other, the flowery ones are not to my taste!

Maybe one or two there that I like but on the whole they have come from a Spotlight catalog. Oh that was a bit nasty?
I'm with you too Rosie!

There's a few okayish ones but some are very nannaesque! What a jippy jip!

Yeah, what she said!

C'mon, what's wrong with nannaesque? You've just never been a floral girl. Strange for someone who's into plants. Oh, wait a mo, there's all those cacti!

Hey, I never really considered it before, but cacti are so me, aren't they? Prickly on the outside, but soft and gooey on the inside. Thanks mama!

Rosie I have to agree. I don't like it - that's my first impression. It's too much like a lot of the other designers when we expect Amy to lead the pack. Especially the first colourway.
That said, if I look at one design on it's own then I like it, just not all together like this.

I am in love with Joel Dewberry.http://www.joeldewberry.com/DeerValleyIndex.html
