I love the bafge I won last time from you and get a lot of comments. Please count me in I have a friend I would love to give one of the cards/ badges to.
I don't know about best or worst but one of the weirdest gifts I ever received was a set of gold coasters with the $2 bin tag still attached. It was for a work secret Santa and I was a bit upset at the apparent lack of thought - everyone else was getting pop out snakes in cans and silly glasses with bobble eyes and the like...
But hey, it's secret Santa and at least my gift remained useful after the night!
(but I did really like those bobble eye glasses!)
you would look totally hot in bobble eye glasses too ruth!
when i was little my uncle gave me batteries. i'd unwrapped them in a room full of people and everyone was watching. i was pretty disappointed, but being well brought up i said thank you very politely. but everyone laughed at me!! ritual humiliation on top of bad present! anyway, then he gave me a second present, and it was a set of walkie talkies, in which to put the batteries. and they were awesome. so simultaneously worst and best present.
What a sneaky trick to play on a little un!
... I'll have to remember it ;D
the worst present i ever received was when i was in year six and it was for a secret santa. the teacher had set us the challenge of hand making the final present for our secret santa. around me people received beautiful cupcakes, library bags decorated in puff paint...i received a piece of paper written on it: this is to certify that....is your best friend... i was really devo! :)
You stumped me on that one, but I can share how my brother ruined the surprise of the best ever present for me when I was young; a sewing machine. I would never of guessed in a million years and he told me a few days before what I was getting. I thought he was joking until my sister confirmed it by telling him off. I was so excited but gutted that he ruined the surprise. i didnt let on to mum though.
just love the cards, they are so adorable!
When my little brother was in high school he had to make a spice rack for a woodwork class. Instead of giving it to Mum like the rest of us used to do with our school projects, he carved my name into it and gave it to me for Christmas. I was so happy that he thought of me when he was making it. It was the best present ever.
My mother-in-law and sister-in-laws grouped together to get me a George Foreman grill one Christmas! Horrible.
Definitely worse than the several hadbags they had given me in the preceeding years - I DON'T DO HANDBAGS, I'M NOT A HANDBAG KIND OF GAL!
I dine out on this story. I received a used electric toothbrush. Well technically it might not have been used, but the package was torn, and it had been removed from the box. The person who gave it to me said, oh I forgot about you, but I found this in my cupboard. I don't know which was worse the present or the comment. Is there any wonder there are so many MIL jokes!
Best and worst at the same time: the fax machine my boyfriend gave me one Christmas. It was the biggest present under the tree, and such a mundane, unusable thing - or so I thought at the time. Since then it's saved me countless trips to the copy shop, and if I could add up all the time it's saved, I'm sure I'd be well up to a month of extra days by now.
woow i love the brooches.. they're adorable! my worst present was probably getting the whole first season of the TV series 'The L Word', and in front of everyone, I was like huh? seriously embarassing, and because it was an anonymous gift i never found out who I got it from!

ooh lovely christmas cards & brooches! I always get at least one pair of pajamas for Christmas, they are all not bad, but my worst would have to be an oversized covered with pink lovehearts pajama set from Sussans!!! :p
