Done & Dusted

Well, no more markets until next year. Phew! What a mad couple of weeks it's been. This weekend was especially busy with two markets over three days. I enjoyed every moment of it, but the preparation was hectic (as usual, I left everything to the last minute) and the aftermath not pretty.

While the last few weeks have been dominated by making, I have also been plotting and planning and have lots of ideas for next year. I have some gorgeous new fabrics and I'll be launching these new designs in January. Next year is going to be an exciting time. As of last Wednesday I am officially unemployed, or, as prefer to think of it, officially self-employed. The other 'me' is a free lance historical researcher and my latest contract expired last week. Half of me thinks this is great. I can spend all my time and energy on the business. The other half of me is terrified. How will I pay the rent? Can I make a living from my craft? I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I have one more market to go and I CANNOT WAIT to have a rest : ) Congrats on making it through the crazy period! And big congratulations on taking the plunge into self employment, I did it a few months ago and while it's been a bit of a rollercoaster, I wouldn't change it for anything! Good luck!
PS. Love your work!

You have absolutely beautiful products so I'm sure once you get the hang of the business details you will be doing well. Always a challenge for handmade but you certainly have a good start - Good Luck!

Exciting times for you! Here's hoping that your beautiful craft will pay the rent (and buy you food too). Look forward to seeing what you're scheming up for the New Year.
