Pre-Market Madness begins

Two days until the market and the usual frantic making has begun. No matter how early I start planning about an upcoming market I always seem to be doing things at the last minute. Oh well, maybe next time I'll be more organised?

Some of the brooches I'll have for sale on Sunday...

Each one is hand cut and sewn onto a button before the back is attached (often with the help of my trusty hammer) and the pin back glued on.

Who'd have guessed that macrame would make a come back? Well it has, at least in Sportsgirl stores, and when have Sportsgirl ever got a trend wrong? Well, there was that one time in 1993, but we don't like to talk about that! When in Melbourne last week I was surprised to see the front window of Sportsgirl decked out in macrame owls. Granted owls are cool, but can their coolness survive the dregs of a 70s textile craze? You be the judge...

Freebies....

Each month I will be giving away a Notions goodies bag to a randomly drawn follower of this blog (Bek, you're in a good position!), so sign up!

Ahhhhh....only a week into my blogging foray and already I've become one of those bloggers who forgets to blog! This week has been extra busy...orders galore to fill (not that I'm complaining) and an upcoming market. Which reminds me, I'll be at the market this Sunday 10-3 at the masonic hall on Sandy Bay Rd. If you haven't taken the opportunity to explore this lovely new craft event this Sunday is the perfect opportunity to do so. I'll be launching all my new Spring lines...so come along, have a coffee and explore the stalls.

More Spring Stuff...

I've always admired Audrey Hepburn and her sense of style. Sadly, I've some to the realisation that try as I might I'll never have her style. To compensate for this disappointment I've created a new range inspired by the glamorous fashions of the 1950s: Fifties Fashionista. I've always loved fifties fashions; the clean lines, the tucked waists, the V-necks, the large collars, the full skirts, and (most importantly) the shoes! My Fifties Fashionista range includes brooches, bookmarks, hair bands, hair slides and cards in fresh spring colours (white and melon with a touch of yellow).

Welcome

Hello and welcome to the first Notions post.

I delivered a fresh batch of my new "Sewing...the new Black" range to Love & Clutter this morning. I'm really pleased with the way they turned out. It's not always easy to envisage the finished product when purchasing the fabrics. I've had many a disappointment in the past and a consequently I have a basket of overflowing unused fabrics. Luckily this wasn't one of those times.
