10 days ago I didn't know how to crochet. It's amazing how many times I've heard people say/blog that they've tried the learn to crochet and given up. This is my second attempt and I can tell you that if you put in the hard yarns yards at the beginning you'll soon pick it up. My first day I spent about 5 hrs practicing granny squares (although you wouldn't have known that's what they were meant to be!) and then it just clicked. I've since taught myself double crochet and double treble (for the flowers), but I'm still struggling to read a hexagon pattern. Here are the links to some of the online resources I've used: meet me at mikes, Patons How to Crochet, and Applehead. If anyone knows of any other good beginner web resources please leave a comment with the link. Thanks.

Wow - I'm one of those people who have wanted to learn to crochet but haven't had any luck. I need to find a little granny somewhere who'll sit down and show me how!! Even uTube instructions don't help.
And yay about the North Melbourne market - shuold be fun!
You could come along with the pattern to crafternoon? (on tomorrow night) I'll give you a hand :) Great work BTW!
Also, there are some great books at the library which have good patterns and instructions.
And what great looking Grannies they are too! Well done. I learned to crochet online too. I can make grannies and flowers just like you. It's fun but not really my thing I've decided. Still it's good to learn new things isn't it?
Good luck with your project!
