And then a tree, some flowers, a cloud and a street lamp. I didn't have a plan in my head when I started this, other than I wanted to do a little red house. Nor did I draw before I began stitching, the design just evolved organically. As I'm new to this craft (I've been an embroider for less than 24hrs!) I'm interested in how others approach embroidery. Are you a planner and a drawer or are you more of a free styler?
My French knots need a little work, but as its's my first attempt I'll let it slide.

Oh, Rosie, that is so cute! Well done, you. You really are inspiring me to get out that Japanese embroidery book...J x
lovely stitching! anything will little houses always makes me smile. I like the red thread on the linen too :)
Cute design....I love little red houses.
That's just adorable. I love the lock of red embroidery thread on white canvas and your houses look wonderful. I tend to draw my patterns on with a removable pen. I might do things differently if I didn't have to keep getting up from my work to look after the kids!
Rosie, I have missed so many of your posts. These little houses are beautiful. Wow, and you have only just begun. Such neat work. I love your little tree and your french knots are beautiful. Red on natural are so good for each other.
